What to expect, it's go time!
First off, lets talk weather. It’s unpredictable, so be ready. We fish in rain, wind, snow, sun, hot, or cold. Check the forecast to ensure you are properly dressed for the predicted weather. The only reason we will reschedule/cancel a trip is if the water conditions are unfishable or upon your request. The rivers we fish are dam released and change frequently, but we stay on top of it.
We will touch base the night before, by 6pm, to finalize meeting details. Once the next days release schedule has been posted and have ensured safe fishing levels and water clarity.
The day of our float we will meet in the morning at our predetermined time and place, typically between 7 and 9am. From there we will head to the river put in and get the boat in the water.
Once we set sail, we will quickly anchor down, get rods in hands, and go over the basics to make sure we have a great day on the water. Whether you have never touched a fly rod or are a seasoned angler, we will do our best to learn a few things, catch a few fish, and enjoy the beautiful rivers of East TN.
After insuring comfort levels with the rod, we will get fishing. We will combine fishing while drifting and anchoring up at the good spots and picking them apart.
On full-day trips, we will stop for a lunch break. We will have a shore or in-boat lunch depending on conditions. Lunch options will be selected and discussed before hand. Once our bellies are full, we will get back to fishing and working our way to the take-out.
